Born 1951 in Southern Illinois, only child, raised Catholic, small farm community
Early years: interested in community affairs, current events, political campaigns
Life-long interests: philosophy, religion, history, politics, writing, literature
Types of jobs held: paperboy, farmhand, railroad clerk, teamster, ironworker, door to door salesman, and yes, lawyer (last 28 years)
Current interests: science, religion, philosophy, law, bioethics, writing, teaching
family: single with adult daughter
